Van der Filk - The 22nd UK national Filk convention

When: Friday 5th to Sunday 7th February 2010
Where: In Grantham, Lincolnshire, at the Grantham Ramada Hotel - as used for 1812tone, 2t0nic and aXXIdental.
UK guest: Gwen Knighton Raftery.
International Guests: Vixy & Tony.
Footloose Filker: Lastalda (Bianca Kranzusch).
Committee: Paul Bristow, Mike Whitaker, Chris "Keris" Croughton, Colin Tuckley.
Membership rates rise after 12th December.

ManorCon 2010

As there will probably be no Unicon and so no HarmUni in 2010, Annie Walker is running a small relaxacon at Halsway Manor in Somerset on 13th-15th August 2010.

FilkCONtinental - The German Filk Convention

Our German friends also run a convention every year. The next one is FilkCONtinental 2010 which will be held on Friday 8th to Sunday 10th October at Freusburg Castle Youth Hostel, near Freudenberg and Siegen.

The guest of honour is Kathy Mar from the USA.

Lots of great songs, lots of fun, lots of hugs. Nearly everyone speaks very good English, and a lot of the songs are in English. There is a strong contingent from the UK there every year.

If you want to get there by train, there is an excellent German Trains web site. Check your travel details there first. The Eurostar web site is not nearly as good!

DFDF - Das Frühlingsfest der Filksmusik - A second German Filk Convention

DFDF will be running for a second yeaqr. This will be on 11th-13th June 2010 in Bad Salzdetfurth, Germany (near Hanover). The guests are Summer & Fall.

Eastercon

The UK national SF convention is held each year over the Easter weekend. There is always some filking there, though the amount can vary a lot.
The 2010 Eastercon is Odyssey 2010 Friday 2nd to Monday 5th April 2008 near Heathrow.
There was no bid for the 2011 Eastercon at the 2009 con. This is still being sorted out.
