Cre2c3ndo - The 23rd UK national Filk convention

When: Friday 4th to Sunday 6th February 2011
Where: In Grantham, Lincolnshire, at the Grantham Ramada Hotel - as used for 1812tone, 2t0nic, aXXIdental and Van der Filk.

ManorCon 2010

As there will be no Unicon and so no HarmUni in 2010, Annie Walker is running a small relaxacon at Halsway Manor in Somerset on 13th-15th August 2010.

FilkCONtinental - The German Filk Convention

Our German friends also run a convention every year. The next one is FilkCONtinental 2010 which will be held on Friday 8th to Sunday 10th October at Freusburg Castle Youth Hostel, near Freudenberg and Siegen.

The guest of honour is Kathy Mar from the USA.

Lots of great songs, lots of fun, lots of hugs. Nearly everyone speaks very good English, and a lot of the songs are in English. There is a strong contingent from the UK there every year.

DFDF - Das Frühlingsfest der Filksmusik - A second German Filk Convention

The third DFDF will be on 27th-29th May 2011 in Bad Salzdetfurth, Germany (near Hanover). The guest is Rika Körte.

Eastercon

The UK national SF convention is held each year over the Easter weekend. There is always some filking there, though the amount can vary a lot.

The 2011 Eastercon will be Illustrious Friday 22nd to Monday 25th April 2011 at the NEC near Birmingham.
Themes: Military SF, SF Through the Ages. Guests: David Weber, Peter F Hamilton, David A Hardy, Vince Docherty.

The 2012 Eastercon will be Olympus 2012 Friday 6th to Monday 9th April 2012 near Heathrow.
Guests: Paul Cornell, George R.R. Martin. More to come.
